Conservas Lolín S.L., a family-run company founded in 1955 by Manuel Gutiérrez Elorza “Lolín”, is located in Castro- Urdiales, in the province of Cantabria, on the shores of the Cantabrian Sea.
In its beginnings, it specialised in the preparation of salted anchovies, following a business strategy based on a top quality raw material – from Cantabria, and an exhaustive control over the preparation process. This business strategy has allowed the company to move on towards the new demands of the market, progressively diversifying its products and always taking the principles and values of sustainability into consideration.
We select and prepare our products whilst they are still fresh, giving priority to the origin of the raw material and taking advantage of the latest technology, along with the traditional know-how passed on from generation to generation, therefore guaranteeing a quality that can only be offered under the supervision of a qualified team of professionals. All of this has allowed us to obtain different recognitions of the quality of the product, amongst them the three stars of the Great Taste Award 2013, given by The Guild of Fine Food (The United Kingdom), as a prize for the "best anchovy of the year".
The company has a business organisation that is both national, which allows us to be present with our products in food chains, the hostelry trade and in specialised stores, and international, with presence in Austria, Germany, Italy, Denmark, USA, Mexico, Guatemala and the United Kingdom, amongst others. Our company is continuously growing, striving to ensure that there are less and less frontiers for Conservas Lolín to cross to be able to offer their products.
